Puppy Power

'Them Indoors' have been watching dog programmes on the TV again. This time it was about six puppies and the trials and tribulations of their first year. It provoked 'Her Indoors' on one of her pet topics, if you'll excuse the pun: choosing the right breed of dog for particular owner circumstances. The advantage with named breeds, and first crosses, is that you've got a pretty good idea about what you're going to get - or you should do if you indulge in a little bit of research. For example, I'm sure there are some terriers out there who are not vocal, self-opinionated and feisty, but if there are I haven't met them yet. Also, some research into dog behaviour and training helps when you're acquiring a companion for the next ten to fifteen years. Anyway, 'Her Indoors' gave the TV the benefit of her advice on all these issues. As I'm such a well-adjusted, impeccably behaved and obedient dog, she clearly knows all there is to know about dog up-bringing....!
